About the Photographer
 and his thoughts about photography.

My name is Steven Szeker a completely self-taught photographer.
I am specializing in the landscapes and people of the Great Australian Outback and special places around the world.

Australia is a spectacular land to photograph, from the most amazing color of the outback to exciting coast lines and the intact serenity of the rainforests.
This magnificent land’s breathtaking beauty and its ever changing environment put me into a constant inspiring state.

We all see things in a different light and perspectives to one another which make photography such an astonishing way to express our self and keep it interesting as well as challenging.

It doesn’t matter how good your pictures are, you want to make the next one better.
To take not just great, but outstanding photos, you have to be in the present moment.

What do I mean about being in the present moment?

You can’t take the photo of yesterday’s sunset or tomorrow’s sunrise today.
Only the present moment is available, the brief time that your shutter is open.

How do you know that you are in the present?

When you are lost in time, you are lost in what you are doing, time is no longer reckonable, you forget about what happened in the office yesterday, as well you are not worried about tomorrow’s appointment,  you are in the eternal now.

This is where your spirit belongs this magical moment of time and place where the quality of light transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary this is the place where your images are born.

The landscape or nature photographer has to immerse himself into this environment to observe nature through his senses, to feel its spirit.
It is peaceful and gratifying in itself, but to bring home images which capture the very essence of a place are the true rewards.

When people are seeing an outstanding picture, they usually are saying.
”He was lucky; He was at the right place at the right time”.

But what is good luck?
Good luck is when preparedness and opportunity come together.
It only happens if you are alert and present. The more you are in the moment the better pictures you take.

So start creating that “Good Luck”
Be present, be timeless.
Happy shooting.
